GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

Stepped in and completed a successful renovation and re-grassing of all greens and tees to more appropriate cultivars (Champion Ultradwarf and Celebration Bermudagrass)

Developed and implemented a course benchmarking system for annual course analysis to track course advancements and identify areas for improvement

Created data-driven metrics, utilizing available technology, to provide consistent conditioning, playability and turf health

Coordinated irrigation pump system replacement without sacrificing turf conditions during down time

Oversaw the installation of an effluent water intake system for irrigation use

Responsible for operation and management of the North course including construction, renovation, personnel management, environmental area management, purchasing, budgeting and all record keeping associated with both golf courses

Provided quality playing conditions throughout the installation of a brand new, state of the art irrigation system with limited disruption of play

Implemented newinventory and application record keeping system to increase efficiency and accuracy ofdepartmental records and budget usage

Completed repairs and additions to drainage infrastructure to improve water removal from the course and protect lakes from erosion and contamination protected areas

AVILA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB, TAMPA, FL

ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT

18-hole private club designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1989.

Organize and schedule daily maintenance operations of a multi-cultural staff of
16 employees.

Develop yearly budget with Superintendent; attend Senior Staff Meetings with club officials.

Assisted with planning and management of multiple construction projects, including
re-grassing greens to Champion Bermudagrass, no-til conversions to Celebration Bermudagrass on tees, approaches, and fairways.

Integral in the implementation of an aggressive, multifaceted agronomic program.

Managed all aspects of an intensive aerification program designed to replace 30%
of the green soil profile to eliminate soil layering problems.

SAUCON VALLEY COUNTRY CLUB, BETHLEHEM, PA

GRACE COURSE – ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
March 2007-December 2010

60-hole facility encompassing three golf courses as well as a six hole junior course.
The facility is recognized as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. It has hosted
numerous championships, including two amateur tournaments and the 2009 U.S. Women’s Open Championship during my tenure.

Recruited, interviewed, hired new employees; trained staff in the safe use of equipment.

Planned, supervised, and implemented manual “Drill and Fill” project to alleviate
bridging issue between the greens mix and drainage stone of a poorly constructed USGA putting green.

Worked with USGA agronomists to provide desired speed and firmness of the greens through water management during 2009 U.S. Women’s Open; responsible for hand watering greens.

Completed two golf course reconstructions (Old Course, Weyhill); installed new irrigation on all playing surfaces during reconstruction.

Completed permitting process with township officials for desired tree removal.

Implemented soil injections and canopy sprays to protect and increase vitality of valued trees throughout the property.

Coordinated and assisted in broad scale GPS soil sampling program to identify
and adjust soil pH and nutrient levels.

KIRTLAND COUNTRY CLUB, WILLOUGHBY, OH

GROUND STAFF
June 2002-November 2006

18-hole private facility designed by C.H. Allison and opened in 1921.

Assisted in all aspects of maintaining a historic and nationally recognized facility for a discerning membership.
